SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Custom Software & SaaS Development

Bespoke software built around how your business actually works — custom platforms, SaaS products, web and mobile applications, integrations and legacy modernisation.

When off-the-shelf software stops fitting

Packaged products are built for the average customer, and every business that grows eventually stops being average. The symptoms are familiar: a process held together by spreadsheets exported from three systems, a workflow your team does manually because the software cannot express it, and a licence renewal for features nobody uses while the one thing you need is on someone else's roadmap.

  • Your process has to bend to fit the tool, rather than the tool supporting the process that makes you competitive.
  • Data lives in several systems that do not talk to each other, so someone rekeys it and someone else reconciles it.
  • The feature you need is either unavailable, on a roadmap you do not control, or priced as an enterprise add-on.
  • A system built years ago still runs a critical process, but nobody wants to touch it and the original developers are long gone.

Who this is for

  • Businesses whose operating process is a competitive advantage worth encoding in software.
  • Founders taking a SaaS product from idea to a version real customers can pay for.
  • Organisations carrying a legacy system that works but cannot safely be changed.
  • Teams that need existing systems integrated rather than replaced.

What we provide

Custom Software Development

Software designed around your process rather than a template. We start by mapping how the work is done today, agree what the first release must do, and build from there — with the repository, the data and the roadmap belonging to you.

  • Discovery workshop, written scope and a fixed quote before any build
  • Clickable prototypes signed off before development begins
  • Full source code ownership and handover at launch

SaaS Development

Subscription products built multi-tenant from the first commit. Tenant isolation, role-based access, plan management and an administrative control plane are architectural decisions, not features retrofitted once you have customers.

  • Multi-tenant architecture with tenant data isolation
  • Subscription, plan and billing integration hooks
  • Admin control plane for onboarding and support

Web Application Development

Browser-based systems for the work your business runs on — customer portals, operations dashboards, booking and approval workflows, internal tools that replace the spreadsheet everyone quietly depends on.

  • Responsive interfaces that work on the devices your staff actually use
  • Role-based access so each user sees only what they should
  • Reporting and exports built in rather than bolted on

Mobile App Development

Cross-platform applications for iOS and Android from a single codebase, with native device access where it matters — camera, location, push notifications and offline operation for staff working without reliable signal.

  • One codebase across both platforms
  • Offline-capable with background synchronisation
  • Store submission and release management handled for you

API & System Integration

Connecting the systems you already run so data moves once and stays consistent. Payment gateways, accounting and ERP packages, CRMs, HR systems and the in-house database nobody has documented.

  • REST APIs and webhooks with documentation your team can use
  • Scheduled and event-driven synchronisation between systems
  • Error handling and retry logic, so a failed sync is visible rather than silent

Legacy System Modernisation

Bringing an ageing system forward without a risky rewrite. We assess what the system does, wrap the parts that still work, and replace the parts that hold you back — incrementally, with the business running throughout.

  • Assessment of the current system and its real dependencies
  • Incremental migration rather than a single high-risk cutover
  • Data migration with verification before anything is switched off

Ways to work with us

Every scope is quoted after a free discovery call. Pick the engagement that fits your budget and how fixed your requirements are.

Fixed-scope project

Best when requirements are clear and you need a firm number before committing.

  • Fixed price and delivery date
  • Written scope signed before build starts
  • Change requests quoted separately
  • Post-launch bug-fix period included

Dedicated team

A monthly team of engineers and a delivery lead working only on your product.

  • Monthly retainer per engineer
  • You own the sprint backlog
  • Scale the team up or down month to month
  • Direct access to the developers

MVP sprint

A sharply scoped build to get a testable product in front of real users.

  • One core workflow, built properly
  • Demo environment for investors and early users
  • Clear upgrade path to a full build
  • Written scope agreed before we start

How we keep quality in

Quality assurance runs alongside development rather than at the end of it, which is what makes a fixed delivery date realistic.

  • Automated tests written with the feature, not retrofitted before launch
  • Code review on every change before it reaches a shared branch
  • Working software on a staging environment every two weeks for you to review
  • A user acceptance round with your own team before anything goes live
  • Credentials and secrets kept out of source control from day one

Software Development — frequently asked questions

Straight answers to what clients ask before an engagement starts.

You do. On every custom build the repository, the intellectual property and all data belong to you, and we hand over the code, the documentation and the infrastructure configuration at launch. We deploy into your own cloud account where you prefer that. There is no licence you have to keep paying to keep using what you commissioned.

We do not ask you to guess. The discovery workshop exists to turn a rough idea into a written scope, and it is free. If the scope is clear at the end of it, we quote a fixed price and date. If it genuinely is not — which is normal for a new product — we suggest a small, fixed-price first phase to build the part you are certain about, and quote the rest once you have learned something from it.

Yes, and it is a common arrangement. We can take a workstream your team does not have capacity for, provide specialists for a specific technology, or work directly in your repositories and sprint process. Where your team owns the codebase, we follow your standards and review process rather than imposing ours.

On a dedicated-team engagement, you reprioritise the backlog at any sprint boundary — that flexibility is the point of the model. On a fixed-scope project, changes outside the agreed scope are quoted separately before we act on them, so you always decide whether a change is worth its cost rather than discovering it on an invoice.

Every project includes a post-launch bug-fix period. After that you can move onto a support arrangement covering security patching, dependency updates, monitoring and continued development, sized to how fast you want to keep moving. If you would rather take it in-house, we hand over documentation and brief your team.
